Cervelo to launch lightest frame ever, SQ6 - Project California
To be released in June 2010 – Pre orders necessary
Cervelo are to release a new frame to the public in June 2010. The new frame will be called the SQ6 and will be Cervelo new flagship model.
Taking all the technology that they have learnt from the current models such as the R3sl and S3, and taking it to their new labs in California where they are working on new carbon layup and manufacturing processes, to further improve these technologies, reduce weight, increase stiffness and strength.
The new SQ6 frame takes years of design, developments and testing from the new test and development labs to create the lightest frame on the market at 700grams while losing none of the characteristics of the current R3sl frameset.
All of the frames are laid up by hand, with all the pieces of carbon cut by laser to guarantee the highest quality that Cervelo look for in every frameset that they produce.
Cervelo developed this new frame through working with their Test Team, getting riders feedback at every stage to make improvements where necessary. Cervelo continue to work with their Test Team riders and partners to develop and make advances in all the products that they use, making sure that the end user has the highest quality product that they can make.
Each frame takes over 1 day to make by hand, therefore Cervelo are only going to be able to make 250 frames per year, making this new frame very exclusive, therefore advanced pre orders are essential to guarantee the shortest delivery time.
As always this new frame comes with the usual Cervelo lifetime warranty.
Prices will be £8000 for a frameset.
